Violence is normalized. It’s time to be honest about that.

This is going to be right to the point.
Agenda driven violence is now fully normalized. The sooner you accept that and take action the safer everyone will be.
An anti-abortion Evangelical Christian impersonated law enforcement to kill Minnesota’s Democratic House leader and her husband. And to wound a Minnesota legislator he once served on an economic development committee with and his wife.
Found inside his police looking vehicle was a hit list of 70 targets due to their pro choice positions.
It no longer matters what your organization does, quite simply it can be targeted by someone with a real or imagined grievance who plans out every detail of the attack in advance in order to address his grievance.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Get your prevention plan together now and focus on employee input and engagement to identify ANY potential sources of safety hazards.
- Get your employee recommendations on how to address those safety issues.
- Get your employees’ input on safety trainings they want to get in strategies to avoid physical harm from violence committed by grievance driven attackers and other
- Review physical safety short falls like places to hide, ease of access to different entrances and exits and ways to implement approaches to address those safety issues.
- Implement those recommendations and train your employees and yourself in relevant strategies to avoid physical physical harm from work related violence.
That’s what you need to get started doing ASAP. Don’t rationalize inaction by thinking violence only happens to others. Violence is fully normalized by enough people that any grievance to them is addressable with violence.
